What's Up With The Name? You may ask as many people do, "What's up with the name Thankful For Orange?" Admittedly it is an odd name for a website or anything for that matter. Why orange? After all my personal favorite color is blue and this site is about my work and creative life so what's up with orange?
Introducing... While Tuten is odd sounding when correctly pronounced as "Toot in" or "2-10" it is my name and though I may have wanted to change it when younger to be free of all the kidding, I have come to appreciate and embrace my name. It's different. Different is good, especially in my life which is best summed up with the word CREATIVE.
Latest Project We purchased a home this year on almost 2 acres and we couldn't be happier. The house is as old as I am and was in need of repair. We have done a lot to the house so far. The pic above is of the fireplace rework, just one of many projects we have undertaken since we moved in. Click the photo to view the progress.

A Growing Site

I've always wanted a garden and we just got 2 acres this year so I started a site to chronicle my progress.

What's Up With The Name?

You may ask as many people do, "What's up with the name Thankful For Orange?" Admittedly it is an odd name for a website or anything for that matter. Why orange? After all my personal favorite color is blue and this site is about my work and creative life so what's up with orange?

The title is inspired. Inspired by innocence and pure honesty. It represents uninhibited creativity that happens everyday, especially in the unexpected moments of life.

Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year. For many reasons. Family, reminders of all God has blessed us with and of course turkey crafts made from tracing your hand, My three year old son made one of these at church and each feather was used to write something he was thankful for. As I read it posted on the wall in the hallway along with the other kids, there was no doubt it was from my son. He was thankful for his grandparents which is not unlike other kids and the feather with the restaurant name Salsaritas (his favorite) was not a surprise but unusual. But the one feather that said it all was ORANGE.

When asked what he was thankful for he said "Orange". His fascination with the color is baffling to me. I'm not sure why the color orange but then again who cares right? A large majority of his clothes have orange on them and every food that happens to be orange he likes, with the exception of carrots and who can blame him.

His honest answer inspired me. Hence the name.
